A nod to my English roots, I finished this piece as England reached the late stages of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Not a great result, but hey, but unlike England, these scones are a winner! All joking aside, these are one of my 'go to' bakes - particularly at those times when you need a little extra comfort or to enjoy with family! A generous dollop of cream and strawberry or raspberry jam is my favourite combination. Named in the honour of the centuries old debate on whether it's pronounced scone or scone, I can finally settle it.
